2015年11月26日，澳大利亚悉尼大学（The University of Sydney）语言与文化学院博士生导师王玮博士应邀至中心讲学。王玮博士目前主要从事话语分析及翻译学研究，其学术专著 “Genre across Languages and Cultures”(2007)提出了跨语言及文化语体研究的新模式，受到国际同行的广泛重视。

王玮博士此次报告会的主题是《Discourse and identity》（《话语和身份》），他认为话语和人的思维习惯以及本地的社会特征密切相关，当前的话语研究更注重社会文化环境对语言使用的控制，要以具体的研究问题选择话语分析的方法。王玮博士随后重点介绍了批评话语分析和语言人类学的研究方法，并结合自己的研究案例——中国媒体对农民工话语的塑造，探讨了农民工的身份如何被构建。此次报告的内容提纲如下：
